Default Holidays alone are just fine with me.

This year I will be more alone than usual, because my closest friends will be out of town for the holidays. I'll probably attend more church activities, a few parties or dances, so those will be fun. I know a few others in the same boat, so we could get together for a potluck or to see a holiday movie. Even though I'm alone, it doesn't bother me. I can watch my favorite Christmas DVDs (You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Love Actually), bake cookies to share with others. Many things to do. Other suggestions, to send email Christmas greetings to friends overseas with email, or if you can afford the postage, send others old-fashioned snail mail Christmas cards. I suggest reaching out to others, and try to create a little comfort and joy at home, doing your favorite things. Have a pizza delivered (so you don't have to cook), decorate the house with bright Christmas lights for atmosphere, maybe take a soothing bubble bath, fill the room with Christmas spirit, by playing your Christmas CDs.
